Bertrand awoke, instantly loathing the day, the motions that he would be required to muddle through until the day passed. He rolled over gently, trying desperately not to awaken the sleeping form next to him until he absolutely had to. His eyes followed the abundant auburn curls as they swept from her brow to the gentle curve of her chin. Part of him envied the peaceful look she held on her face, so pale and soft, where a smile hook of a smile tugged at the corner of her full lips. Tears forming in his, Bertrand leaned forward, kissing the edge of that smile as if he could share in the small amount of happiness it held.
He fought to keep his tears at bay when heard the intake of breath drawn through Natasha’s lips that signified she was well and truly awake. 2nd place The Demon Santa ClausThe demon Santa Claus looked around and savored the sight.  Those jolly elves were leading him right into their village.  The silly creatures couldn’t see him for what he was.  He shook his head and laughed at their folly.
He had been tired and weak when he found their remote village.  He had come afoul of a particularly belligerent archangel.  The angel did not care for the demon’s plan to bolster his power by harvesting the souls of young innocents.  He had thought himself banished into a cold and barren realm until he stumbled across the elven village.
It was so unexpected, one minute he was staggering up a white hill, the next he was looking down on a village.  Although, it had been a millennia since he has seen an elf, he knew instantly by the musical hum of the voices that carried up to him that this was an elven village. Mediums accepted: All! If you can incorporate the theme into your art, your entry will be accepted. Yes, this includes photography, poems, stories, stock, traditional, photomanipulation, and crafts.

Theme: Must show a dark Christmas theme. Christmas ghosts, bad Santa, insane elves, a possessed Christmas tree, gingerbread man come to life, your imagination is the limit.

Must be a new submission. Submitted after November 4th. Limit 2 entries in each category.

Judging: Judging will be done by a panel of judges and will be based on creativity, originality and appeal.
